Friday, December 19: THIS DAY in HISTORY

Greetings from across all borders and boundaries:

Hello children, and a thousand pardons that I could not be here. Here is your assignment for today:

A) Most of you should have DECEMBER radio show that you have uploaded to your computer. If this is the case, I need to have a copy of it ASAP (For the rest of you, we will need to finish it on Monday, assuming we don't get buried in an avalanche by then.)

B)For the remainder of today's class, you will need to create either a Discussion or a Page on our Google group. Here is what it will have to be about:

1) You have already interviewed at least 2 or 3 of your classmates. Now you will have to decide which person you would most want to interview, besides a family member or personal friend. Choose wisely, because you can only choose ONE PERSON

2) You must pick out ONE important event in that person's life to talk about. For example, I would either choose
President Reagan, when he stood in front of the Berlin Wall and demanded that it be torn down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjWDrTXMgF8
http://www.reaganlibrary.com/reagan/speeches/wall.asp

OR, Jimi Hendrix, when he played the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_nO0F4ugss
http://www.jimi-hendrix.com/magazine/502/502,features,nationalanthem.html

Notice that I have links to both these events. You will need to gather some links of your own. Just figured I would warn you.

3) You must come up with at least seven questions you would want to ask this person, based on that event. Your questions must be posed in the form of a complete sentence

4) You must come up with at least a two sentence ANSWER for these questions. What do you think this person would actually say? You must base this on some references you can find online. Here's where you list your sources. And please, don't just list http://www.google.com/, or http://www.wikipedia.com/ -- how LAME! List the actual website addresses. You should have at least three of them.

As I said, please post this as a Discussion. Also, I will need you to print it out, with your FULL NAME at the very TOP of this document, and hand it in to my substitute.

"the faster we go,
the rounder we get"
